Field-trips, friendly faces and falling overboard.

I went out this morning to plan a route for the field-trips that I’ll soon be leading as part of the upcoming Bangkok Photo School classes. Boy, it was hot in Bangkok today.

Despite the heat we managed to walk through Chinatown and the Pak Klong Talaat market, discussing our plans for the field-trips and snapping a few frames as we went. Even though I’ve become accustomed to the friendly nature of the local people, it’s still a delight to wander through the bustling streets and up and down the narrow aisles in the marketplace. This is a busy part of town and people are obviously hard at work yet  are invariably happy to pause and exchange a smile.

I grabbed lunch at the friendly Rub’-ar-roon cafe at Tha Tien and hatched plans for world domination before heading home on the Chao Phraya river taxi.

The first two photographs, Gavin, are standouts. I love the light and the “sheen” on his skin- I can almost feel that searing Bangkok heat.

very nice photos. I especially like the one of the three monks on the boat.
