My Lensbaby love affair

The nice people at Lensbaby have kindly sent some gear for me to use in Workshops and with classes at the Bangkok Photo School. I’ve been a fan of Lensbaby gear for a long time but this new kit has re-ignited my passion for the old-style, soft-focus look all over again. I’ll post a fuller review later in the week but in the meantime here are a couple of shots taken with the Lensbaby Composer and Double Glass Optic down at the now nearly famous Red Wall. These were all taken with the f/4 aperture, which gives a pretty narrow sweet-spot of focus but boy, as you may notice in the first shot of the motorcyclist in the checked shirt, when you can nail the focussing, it really is impressively sharp.

Judging from those pics, it’s reigniting my already well lit passion for a bit of soft focus too! Not to put any pressure on you lol, but i’ll be eagerly reading through that review when you post it as i’ve been considering the composer and double glass since they were announced and the only thing that’s been holding me back has been availability. Stores around here just aren’t stocking them as yet. Rumour has it, the next few weeks. Here’s to hoping
