Bangkok Photo Walk 2009: Our Group

Bangkok Photo Walk: Satish

I really enjoyed this afternoon’s Photo Walk. The residents of Chinatown were as hospitable as ever, especially so considering that over 100 photographers descended on them today. We took a leisurely walk from the river up through the narrow alleyways towards the busy main street at Yaowarat where our group joined two other Photo Walk groups led by Ace and Jose.

I’ll post a few of my own pictures tomorrow but I hope you’ll enjoy seeing a few snaps of our group in action first.

Somewhere out there are two-dozen virtually identical photos of me. I know, it scares me too.

In the Lek & Rut restaurant, checking the fruits of our labours and Photo Walk leaders Ace, Me and Jose. Ace is the founder of portfolios.net, where there is a group dedicated to this year’s Thailand Photo Walks.

I’ll be compiling the competition photo submissions from our group and sitting in a whispered huddle with young Matt Brandon whilst we decide on the winning image from my walk and Matt’s Peneng walk. Watch this space, where the winners will be announced before they go forward to compete with winning entries from similar walks around the world for prizes that are best described as being “Top banana”.

Looks like everyone had a great time. I wish I could have been there, but sadly I have to work :( . I really like photo 8 (the snappers back to back), that’s a nice photo of folk making photos.

I can’t beleive you would spray paint a wall with your photo walk logo. I thought I knew you, though you subscribed to a “take nothing but pictures, leave only footprints” ethic. I am shocked.

    :-)

We do ours in 3 hours. Can’t wait. Hired models and everything. Studio lights, the full meal deal at a couple locations. Why? Because gear is good, vision is better, but LOTS of gear? Hard to beat. :-)

  5. This really looks like you had a great time. I’m intimidated by all the heavy duty camera equipment, but would love to join you sometime in the future. Hope to catch up with you soon

David, Scott Kelby sent me a template and spray can, didn’t you get one? Are you serious about the lights and models? Eh? Why? Dwight, it’s not how big it is, it’s what you do with it that matters! Onctu, looking forward to seeing your pictures. Cheers!
