Shot in locations within a few minutes’ walk of each other, these photos illustrate my theory that a great number of India’s population are involved in a conspiracy to provide visiting photographers with the most eye-catching, colourful photo opportunities possible.
I like their conspiracy!! Love the colors and well done!
Gavin,
I love when you, Matt and David get together to shoot. It’s a feast for the eyes and the soul.

Oh dear lord – these are gorgeous!
Fantastic vibrant colours!
Why didn’t the chap in the middle wear a blue shirt?
Demonstrates the huge difference in culture from the states. Neighbors would be up in arms if someone painted their home in these colors, but it sure would make a subdivision more interesting. Wonderful images.
[...] It’s been crazy-wet here in Delhi but what a reprive from the usual heat. So nice to be back, and to be shooting and collaborating with friends, walking in the chaos of Chandni Chowk, sitting in the quiet of a hidden mosque, or eating butter chicken at El Jawahar, a hole in the wall restaurant in the shadow of Old Delhi’s Jamma Masjid. One of the things I enjoy most is playing the unspoken game of “Do you see what I see?” while shooting with other talented photographers, and to come home at the end of the day and compare images. Which didn’t happen last night because I passed out before 8pm, while Matt and Gavin both live within a couple time zones of Delhi and didn’t get hit with the jet-lag stick the way I did. But the shot below is one you’ll find looking suspiciously similar to one on Gavin’s site. [...]
Great images with nice colors and contrast. I agree with Masher, the elderly man in the middle with a blue shirt would make this a superb series.
Great mix of colors, strong portraits.
I suspect that the gentleman in the blue doorway didn’t wear a blue shirt so as to remind us that life is full of imperfections.
Probably
One adjustment layer and some masking and dude’s sporting a blue shirt.
Like all great ideas beautifully simplistic but powerful. I like the concept of using RGB colours in a tryptych.
Oh to be back in India !
Looking forward to more color work from you on this trip, excellently seen as usual, Gavin.
Love a good conspiracy theory, love a good triptych more, nice work.
Love the colors here. Well done portraits!
Beautiful images, Gavin.
So good to meet you there…
Really love this tryptych Gavin! Thinking about you guys…..Wish i could have come to Nepal!
