Here’s a couple of pictures that I took yesterday in Old Delhi. Chandni Chowk is inevitably high on the photographer’s list of “must-see” places in Delhi, as is the Djamaa Masjid, the largest mosque in, I think, the Indian sub-continent.
Of course, I can’t resist the panning technique in places like Chandni Chowk, where the hustle and bustle of the narrow market streets is best conveyed with a little motion blur. I don’t care if my camera controls seize up, just as long as they’re stuck on 1/15th of a second.
I’m here doing some work for a magazine but I’ll be shooting some stock material for Getty and Lonely Planet Images at the same time. Synchronicity strikes yet again though, as I’ll also have the opportunity to link up with Matt Brandon, David duChemin and Ami Vitale over the weekend, during the first stage of their Lumen Dei tour of Ladakh.
Beautiful images, Gavin!! I especially love the first shot – the motion blur indeed captures the hustle and bustle and the bg colors are wonderful.
You rock! These are very nice images.
have fun,
jack
