By way of a small distraction from the serious business of photographing Bhutan and the autumn tsechus, members of our group would occasionally descend into the kind of eccentric behaviour that can seem wildly amusing – at the time. On this day, we found that adopting the poses of models in clothing catalogues fantastically funny. I know. I said, you had to be there
In the top picture: Mark Wideman, to whom it all comes a little too easily; Claire Deacon, taking it not at all seriously; Me – the group leader – who should know better and the lovely Ivana Maglione, who looks like a catalogue model all the time anyway.
In the bottom two frames, it’s me again with the lovely Ivana and the always-gorgeous Claire, who looks ravishing with seemingly no effort at all. Even when I forced the group to meet for breakfast at 5.30am, she’d look like she’d just stepped off a film set.
Happy days!
Go on, admit it. You just wanted an excuse to be photographed with pretty women, didn’t you?
Any excuse, Craig. Any excuse
Ha Ha Gavin!! I think I need to print out a copy of these photos and hand them to my next streetstyle subject/victim and say “here, just pose like this!”
and all model and property released and ready for the agencies, right? A new genre, photographers shooting other photographers.
I think i’ll become a Jackie Rado/Gavin Gough groupie. Classy shots of The Beautiful People in exotic locations accompanied by witty text! Quite entertaining really. And neither of you are Australians!?
David, it’s a great idea and model releases will be easy to come by! Michael, “classy, beautiful, witty”, surely that’s BECAUSE we’re not Australian?
Ha Ha Gavin! you’ve just confirmed it for me. i’m a groupie now. i’m going to practice my adulation and hysterical screaming before i go public though.
Err, yes, that’s DEFINITELY something you should do in the privacy of your own home, Michael.
Delete immediately the bottom picture. Infact, delete immediately all of them
Michael, most looking forward to your screaming rendition! And am just happy I remained fairly and squarely on the right side of the lens – too bad, Ivana, that’s what comes of looking good!
Yep, you were definitely on the right side of the camera, Jackie.
The worrying thing is that you all look a little too good at it!! Still, it`ll be another string to your bow, eh Gav? If the model releases are all signed up, I seriously recommend that you send them off to Hawkshead, or similar, since you would all be great at modelling their leisure wear. Also, it does look like great fun & it`s good that you took time to laugh and play as well as work. Did you do any work? Further, on a more serious note, I wonder if Jackie managed to take a picture of Ivana on her own since her top goes so well with the wonderful backdrop? That would be a winner.
