Camel traders at the Pushkar Camel Fair

Sometimes the details can reveal even more about a subject

Gypsy girls with more than their fair share of attitude dress up and roam the fairground looking for tourists to accost with their plea of “One photo?”.

Early morning at the festival ground

It’s sometimes possible to recruit a willing assistant to hold a remote flash. This boy was sitting with his family beside their tent, enjoying breakfast when he discovered the joy of wireless flash work.

We were delighted to be invited to see the festival ground from above by hot-air balloon specialists Sky Waltz.

A very different perspective on the camel-trading fairground

Yeah it reminds me the time, i was in pushkar sleeping four days wit non smoking baba on the ghat.

Beautiful Shots! These images still have your signature style, but with a new perspective. I am intrigued with the “softness” of a few of these photos. Well done!
Oh, these are brilliant. I am completely taken with the matte/dusty quality of light. Just wonderful. The unexpected rainbow doesn’t hurt either
Some great portraits there, Gav.
I love the way you’ve used off camera flash in these photos. It’s seems like a different style from your usual photography.
You are such an inspiration! I feel as if I’m there. Thank you for sharing your expertise!
Wow. Beautiful work Gavin. I hope you’re doing well. jack
Wow! These are incredible!
Great set of images Gavin. I too like the ‘strobist’ effect and I bet that Gypsy girl nearly had her nose touching the lens !!

Thanks for sharing these photographs- I love the one of the boy holding the flash, especially his expression.
