Seven in Seven · Day One

Each day for a week, I'm sharing one of my favourite images from 2017.

Sony a7RII, 50mm Leica lens, 1/60 @ f/2 ISO640

Today's photograph was made as I watched a festival in Nepal from the vantage point of a temple balcony. Whilst the festival procession was fascinating, my attention was drawn to the father and daughter standing on the balcony beside me.

I really loved this tender moment as the daughter, entranced by the sights and sounds of the procession below, reached up and wrapped her arm around her father's face.

Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, whether you will be enjoying your own celebrations or not, I hope that you will enjoy the loving support of your family and wish you a peaceful and rewarding New Year.

Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.
